Where can I park? There is always plenty of street parking. You can even park right in front of the driveway. Please be aware of street sweeping signs on the first and third Tuesday.
-
I know you want people to wait in their car, but what if I don't have a car?"Please text me before you arrive 510-473-5134 and I'll let you come sit in the back patio.
-
What if I'm running late?If you're running late, please contact me at 510-473-5134 to let me know, and I'll do my best to accommodate you. Please do not rush into the shop when you get here- please text me and let me know you have arrived and I will text you when to come in. Your services may need to be adapted to fit the remaining appointment time without adjustment to pricing. If you're more than 15 minutes late, your appointment may need to be rescheduled. My cancellation policy is 50% 48 hours in advance, and 100% same day cancellation. Extremely late clients may be charged 100% off the service fee.

Can I bring my kids/dog?Yes! As long as your kid/dog can entertain themself and you can sit uninterupted in my chair for your entire appointment they are welcome.
-
Do you do kids cuts?Short answer: no client under 14. While I LOVE kids the skill set for wiggly short attention span small heads is VERY different than the precision adult cuts I specialize in. My equipment is also not made for kids and I don't have child capes nor a children's chair. I understand there is a need for a local stylist who does gender affirming cuts for nonbinary kids and that is not me. Email me if you need a referral.

How should I wear my hair when I arrive?COLOR CLIENTS: Please have no product and preferably clean hair. You can even just shampoo it and not condition. ON SCALP BLEACH CLIENTS: Please don't wash your hair for a few days before bleaching so your scalp won't be so sensitive. CUT CLIENTS (including Ouidad curly cuts): Please wear your hair as you normally do. A few days in or freshly washed, I want to see an 'average' hair day for you.
-
What should I wear? The studio is essentially outdoors so please dress for the weather. Please no bulky hoods or scarves. It is usually not as cold and clients may think. I have a heating pad and heater if you are cold.
-
What is the cancellation policy?I need 48 hours or you will be charged 50% of your service. I cannot fill the appointment within 48 hours.
-
What if I'm not happy with my hair?If you don't love your hair, please reach out to me within 7 days of your appointment so that I can make it right. The adjustment will be complimentary, unless it would be a change from what was agreed upon in the consultation. Any change that was not part of the original consultation would not qualify as a complimentary adjustment, and would have to be booked as a new service.
-
Why do I need a card on file? Is it secure?I do require a card on file to book, as this protects my time and helps to ensure that I can offer the best scheduling options to all my guests. It also streamlines checkout if you want to pay with this card. The card on file is stored electronically through Stripe, the world's leading secure and PCI compliant online payment processor. I do NOT have access to your card information.
-
Can I bring a friend? If you bring another adult I prefer they wait in the back patio.

How can I maintain Vivid haircolor?Wait at least 48 Hours before washing your hair. Shampoo with VERY cold water and wash 1-2 times a week. Shampoo only with color safe salon quality shampoo made for colored hair (my favorite is New Wash by Hairstory) If you want your vivid color to last longer than four weeks the option is to buy a $40 color bomb from me. Dry shampoos or hair powders are great for oily scalps. (my favorite is Powder by Hairstory). Fashion colors will fade quickly if not using professional quality products, improperly heat styling without heat protection, sun exposure, hot baths, sulfur pools, spas and swimming pools. The color is non-toxic.

SCENT FREEI use botanical based products scented with essential oils (except the Ouidad products). My linens are washed in scent free detergent. I don't wear scents myself besides deodorant. I am low scent but not entirely scent free myself. You are welcome to bring in your own products if you prefer. If you need a 100% scent free experience I might not be a good fit for your needs.
